The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill warning for much of Central Virginia starting at 5 p.m. today and lasting until Tuesday afternoon. According to weather experts, the counterclockwise-rotating pool of cold and dense air usually stays in Canada but is now making its way across the state The wind chill values could be as low as -15 to -30 degrees at times tonight. At those temperatures, experts say exposed skin can get frostbitten in minutes and hypothermia can quickly set in. People are advised to dress in layers and ensure as little skin is exposed as possible.
