A federal judge says he cannot and will not reverse a decision on allowing the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors to pray. The Judge yesterday said he stands by his initial ruling that government officials shouldn’t say a sectarian prayer; he also said he can’t reverse a decision because it’s still pending in the court of appeals. The board’s attorney is appealing the permanent injunction. The U.S. Supreme Court recently gave the town of Greece, N.Y. permission to continue prayer.
