Hill City firefighters are celebrating a successful Fill the Boot Campaign.Lynchburg Fire Department and International Association of Fire Fighters Local 1146 presented a check to the Muscular Dystrophy Association Monday. According to WSET, this year’s Fill the Boot campaign raised more than $46,500. The money raised will assist the families of children and adults affected by muscle disease with lifesaving and day-to-day support. Some will pay for children to attend MDA summer camp at Smith Mountain Lake. It also supports research and specialized clinics in Charlottesville and Roanoke.
