Firefighters Called to Scene of Apartment Fire

Lynchburg firefighters were called to the scene of an apartment fire Thursday morning. It happened just after 9am, at the James Crossing apartments on Greenview Drive. According to a fire spokesman, one person was taken to the hospital to be checked out. The apartment was on the third floor of building 840. WSET reports, neighbors say the person who lived in the apartment suffered from smoke inhalation. Animal control took care of the victim’s dog as firefighters worked in the area.
