Next Thursday, April 16, at 6:00 p.m. the Lynchburg Department of Emergency Services, along with the American Red Cross and the National Weather Service in Blacksburg will host a free weather spotting class at The American Red Cross building on Sheffield Drive. The class is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited. Those who attend will learn how to “read the sky” to determine what type of severe weather may be approaching and receive important weather safety information to help protect you and your family from the hazards of severe weather. Anyone who is interested in weather science or has a desire to be an official storm spotter is encouraged to attend.
