The City of Lynchburg’s Parks and Recreation Department invites the public to the two grand opening events at the Miller Center on Grove Street. Both events are Saturday January 24. The first is from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. It’s an open house which will include free building tours, activities for kids and families, art demonstrations, refreshments and performances by Lynchburg City Strings, Pride of Payne and the Dunbar Middle School Drama and Jazz Ensemble. Later that same evening, the newly formed Friends of the Lynchburg Parks and Recreation, will present the Miller Center Opening Concert featuring the music of Apple Butter Soul and the EbonyBlue Band. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online by clicking here or at the Miller Center. The concert will last from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.
