Lynchburg Police say gunfire from a car struck four people early Sunday morning along the 400 block of Rivermont Avenue, leaving one person dead and three others wounded, one of them critically. Police say it happened shortly after 2:00 am near the Ellington Building, the gunshots fired from a dark-colored four-door sedan. 21-year-old Shawn Johnson Jr. was pronounced dead at Lynchburg General Hospital. Officials say 30-year-old Kevin Foxx is in critical condition there and 28-year-old Jamall Randolph and 25-year-old Angelena Garland are hospitalized with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

On September 18, 2016 at approximately 0211 hours Officers with the Lynchburg Police Department responded to shots fired in the area of 421 Rivermont Ave (The Ellington Building).
Upon arrival they found 4 victims that had been shot. They are as follows:
Kevin J. Foxx B/M age 30 of Lynchburg VA is receiving treatment for several gunshot wounds
and is listed in critical condition.
Jamall D. Randolph B/M age 28 of Lynchburg VA is receiving treatment for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Angelena C. Garland B/F age 25 of Lynchburg VA is receiving
treatment for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Shawn L. Johnson Jr. B/M age 21 of Lynchburg VA received a gunshot wound to the midsection of his body and was later pronounced dead at Lynchburg General Hospital.
According to witnesses at the scene a B/M fired several shots from a dark colored 4 door sedan unknown license number, no further description. No arrest has been made at this time.
