From Lynchburg Police: On 04-08-2014 at approximately 0505 hrs, Officers with the Lynchburg Police Department responded to the Stop In Food Store located at 3239 Old Forest Road for an armed robbery. Upon their arrival they were advised by the clerk and customers that a black male had entered the store and presented a handgun. The suspect demanded money and ordered the clerk to lie on the floor. The suspect went through the cash register, and then fled the scene on foot (towards Forestbrook Road) with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was described as: Black male, approximately 5-10, medium to heavy build, a thin beard, wearing a tan hooded jacket, dark colored “cargo” style pants, and a baseball cap. The suspect also had what appeared to be a white t-shirt wrapped around his face and head.
