Construction plans for the Heritage High School project are nearly complete and the contract will be released to the bidding pool by mid February. Officials say the project as it stands now has the city on track to open the new Heritage High in 2016, which is two years earlier than anticipated AND with a smaller price tag– more than 4 percent lower than those presented last fall. Lynchburg City Council reviewed the new cost estimates and project timeline details on Tuesday; the financing strategy will be discussed more during council’s half-day budget retreat next week.
