The Standard and Poor’s financial services company has affirmed Lynchburg with an AA+ Plus bond rating. According to the City Manager the rating allows the city to borrow more money at a lower interest rate. Standard and Poor’s says it based its decision on the city’s stable economy, it’s flexibility with the budget, and it’s strong financial management. An AA+ rating is one of the highest ratings a city of Lynchburg’s size can achieve.
