Pupils at one Lynchburg private school will be going the extra mile for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Students at Holy Cross Regional Catholic School are wearing pink shirts to raise awareness; not just about breast cancer, but all forms of the disease. On Monday, middle and high school volleyball and soccer teams played games in remembrance of loved ones who have battled various illnesses. Student organizers of the school’s “Pink Out” event say it’s a way to support those living and fighting. Students also held a bake sale to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Holy Cross will continue to hold events to spread awareness about breast cancer through the month of October.
