Issues Being Worked Out For Upcoming Nelson County Festival

Lockn’ Festival organizers are hoping to remedy traffic issues this year. In two preliminary meetings last week, event planners met with Nelson County businesses and traffic officials in an effort to answer questions and address concerns, particularly those of traffic issues, stemming from last year’s event. Lockn’ coordinators will be working with VDOT on how traffic on the opening day can be improved; and possible alternatives so motorist on Rt. 29 can access turn lanes and crossovers throughout the event. The planning process will continue with VDOT’s land use representatives and traffic engineering staff.
