A two decade prison sentence for a Bedford County man convicted on four counts of computer solicitation of a minor was reduced this week. 39 year old, William Ramsey Rogers was sentenced in January after pleading no contest to charges of communicating online with two people he believed to be young teenagers. The incident which occurred in October of 2012, did not involve youngsters, but undercover deputies instead. Rogers’ attorney filed a motion to modify the sentence say his client sought out counseling, was a first-time offender and did not physically act on targeting minors. During a hearing on Tuesday, the judge in the case cut the sentence in half, from 20 years to 10. Rogers must register as a sex offender and have no unsupervised use of the Internet upon his release.
