Smart Beginnings is working to get kids registered for kindergarten throughout the region’s school systems. Administrators say high quality care means that children are engaging in meaningful learning and play, guided by qualified caregivers in an enriched educational environment. Director of Instruction for Lynchburg City Schools, tells media outlets that it’s helpful for schools to know how many students will be entering the system; in order to adjust their staffing to accommodate the numbers. For Lynchburg City, Campbell, Amherst, and Appomattox counties — pre-registration is April 23 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Parents need to bring a birth certificate, two pieces of proof of residency, and immunization records for your child.
