Last Public Hearing About Closing Schools Held Tuesday

The last public hearing for people to voice their concerns about the closing of Thaxton Elementary and Bedford Primary schools was held Tuesday in Bedford County. WDBJ-7 reports, the school board will make its final decision at its next meeting on Sept. 11. The Bedford County School Board says the decision comes down to money. Earlier this year, the school board decided to close Body Camp Elementary School. The closing was recommended as part of a state-mandated efficiency review.
