From Lynchburg Police Department: On 12-10-2015 at approximately 2210 hours Officers with the Lynchburg Police Department responded to the 2300 Block of Light Street. (Located in the City of Lynchburg) for a possible Malicious Wounding. Upon arrival a witness stated there was some type of altercation in the street at which time multiple gunshots were heard. Officers found multiple shell casings in the area but no victims were found. Moments later Officers with the Lynchburg Police Department received a call from the Lynchburg General Emergency Department advising that three male victims showed up at the ER with gunshot wounds. The males were identified as follows:
- Cornellius Cornell Pendleton Jr., B/M (Age 18 of Lynchburg VA) suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdominal area.
- John Travis Maddox W/M (Age 25 of Lynchburg VA) suffering from a gunshot wound to the left Hip.
- Colton Ted Staton W/M (Age 26 of Lynchburg VA) suffering from a gunshot wound to the ankle.
Preliminary investigation revealed that at least two of the three males were firing handguns at each other and the third male may have been hit by crossfire.
The injuries to the three males are believed to be non-life threatening. No charges at this time pending further investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Det. Lisa Singleton at 434-455-6173 or call Crime Stoppers.
