Liberty University and Conference USA announced Friday that the school will move all of their sports to the conference beginning in January 2023.
Conference USA will also add Jacksonville State, New Mexico State and Sam Houston State. The league is trying to replenish its ranks after having nine schools announce plans to leave. Conference USA might not be done, either. Mid-American Conference officials were expected to discuss possible expansion and C-USA members Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State are potential options.
The Liberty football team has competed as an FBS independent school since rising to the FBS ranks in 2018.
