The list of localities seeking information regarding a proposed 450-mile-long natural gas transmission pipeline is growing. The proposed Dominion Resources pipeline, which is in the preliminary stage of consideration, would enter the state in western Virginia and run in a southeasterly direction through Nelson to Brunswick, before turning toward North Carolina. The company is slated to address many concerns raised by Nelson residents at next week’s presentation to the Board of Supervisors. One of the biggest questions is how blasting will affect the water source? Augusta County, and Highland County, which could see 20 or more miles effected, hope the session provides more information to other counties in the pipelines path.
