Elizabeth Early Learning Center in Lynchburg is celebrating its accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. According to the center’s Executive Director, only 8 percent of early childhood programs in the country are accredited and is the only childhood programs center in the Lynchburg area to receive the recognition. The process was a lengthy one taking about two years. The application included surveys of parents and staff and a site visit from an assessor. The school had to meet more than 400 criteria to earn the accreditation.
