Appomattox Officials Support Measures That Will Improve Staff’s Safety

Appomattox Town Council this week approved up to $10,000 to improve security at the town office and public works buildings. According to the News & Advance, a wall will be installed at the town office with a buzzer, giving staff control over who enters. A window with small slots and speakers will be installed over the counters to prevent people from interfering with employees. A similar window will be installed at the public works office. The work is expected to be completed within two months.
