(AP) _ A lawsuit stemming from a fatal boating accident on Smith Mountain Lake has been settled. The Roanoke Times reports that 37-year-old Timothy O’Quinn’s family members settled their lawsuit against two boat operators for $450,000. O’Quinn was killed on May 2, 2014, when two boats collided on Smith Mountain Lake during a fishing tournament. The Botetourt County resident was a passenger in one of the boats, which was operated by Teddy Wolford. O’Quinn’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Wolford and the other boat’s operator, Gary Nichols. A Botetourt County judge recently approved the settlement.
