Cause Of Death To Be Determined After Exhumation

The body of a Lynchburg man, who died in an automobile accident nearly six months ago, will be exhumed to determine the actual cause of death. 53 year old, James Dale Gunter was killed in a crash on August 18 in Bedford County when the car he was a passenger in overturned. The man police say was behind the wheel, Steve Oulds, III is charged with DUI, a misdemeanor, and involuntary manslaughter, a felony, as a result of the accident. Media outlets report, the preliminary hearing originally set for this Friday, is expected to be continued, since the judge granted a petition by the Commonwealth to have Gunter’s body exhumed for an autopsy. An autopsy was not performed immediately after Gunter’s death.
