City Planners Encouraging Officials for Consideration of Conservation Easements

city lynchburg logoCity planners are encouraging officials to develop procedures of consideration for future conservation easements. The planning commission voted Wednesday to recommend City Council add policy to the city’s comprehensive plan. Conservation easements are binding agreements that place permanent restrictions on how a property can be used for the purpose of protecting its natural resources and open space. The proposal would establish criteria; a tool to guide growth and development, for future guidance on the topic.
