Educating The Nation’s Future Pilots

A national shortage of airline pilots has the nation’s airlines are on track to run out of pilots soon. Experts say the industry is facing the most serious scarcity of trained aviators since the 1960s. The number of people going through training and entering the field of aviation nationally is declining—but that is not the case locally. Liberty University School of Aeronautics is producing the nation’s pilots; with approximately 30% growth per year for the last several years. New rules going into effect this summer, based on recommendations from the Federal Aviation Administration, mandate that all newly hired pilots have at least 1,500 hours of flying experience.
