Funding Still Undecided For Heritage H.S Project

Lynchburg City Council yesterday considered two possible funding strategies for the Heritage High School project. The News & Advance reports the majority of members seem to lean toward fully funding the project, but no formal vote was cast. The city is gearing up to rebuild the school. Officials plan to issue bonds this spring to pay for the project. The financing plan will continue to be refined until then as the cost of the project is clarified. In the meantime, School officials plan to start taking bids on the construction contract next month, and are aiming for an April groundbreaking. The new school facility is expected to open in 2016.
