Garden Club of Virginia to present film festival

(AP) _ The Garden Club of Virginia is holding a festival of short films on a variety of environmental topics this week. The club’s Conservation and Beautification Committee will present the film festival on Wednesday at the Joy and Lynch Christian Warehouse Theater, Academy of Fine Arts in Lynchburg. The festival is open to the public. The club says the films’ topics include uranium, fracking and the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. The festival will conclude with “Rappahannock: The Story of a Historic and Beautiful River and its People.” Piedmont Environmental Council president Chris Miller will be the festival’s moderator.
