Habitat for Humanity Scaling Down Number of New Homes

habitat for humanityThe Greater Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity will be scaling down the number of new homes it builds. Habitat’s Executive Director tells media outlets, the economy has made fundraising a challenge  so they’ve decided to change their approach; by doing more with less. Last year, four homes were built with reserve funds—so far this year, only one home has been built. By next year, many of the homes won’t be built from the ground up. Instead, a they’ll combine construction, with remodeling and renovations of older Habitat homes that way, by the year 2020, at least 12 homes per year could be available for families.
