Lynchburg business robbed for second time in less than a month.

Lynchburg PoliceFor the second time in less than a month, Lynchburg Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Check First Cash Advance on Fort Avenue. The latest incident came during today’s noon hour. No one has been arrested for the first holdup, which occurred August 4th.

From Lynchburg Police: On September 2nd, 2016 at approximately 12:34 P.M., Officers of the Lynchburg Police Department responded to 3701 Fort Avenue (Check First Cash Advance) for an Armed Robbery. During the robbery a subject enteredthe store carrying a leather portfolio as if he had paperwork with him. This same subject had been in the store 15 minutes prior to the Robbery asking the clerk what paperwork he needed to get a loan. Once the subject returned with what the clerk thought was his paperwork, the clerk turned to get an application.  When the clerk turned back, the subject had a handgun pointed at them, and demanded money. The subject then left the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, exiting left out the front door heading into the direction of Fort Avenue. The suspect is described as follows: Light-skinned black male, mid 20’s, between 5’11 and 6’0, with a medium build approximately 180-200 lbs. The suspect was wearing a plain white t-shirt, long black shorts, and a doo-rag on his head under a black baseball hat. The suspect’s face was unshaven. No one was injured during this incident.
