Lynchburg City Council Will Hold a Public Hearing Today on New Stormwater Measures

The ordinance, taking effect July 1, is part of a new state mandate to help clean up Virginia’s waters. Sources say the changes mean heightened requirements for stormwater control and treatment in new development, and more inspection and permitting responsibility for the city. Under state law, the city has to adopt its updated stormwater ordinance and fees by Friday. The work session starts at 5:00 today at City Hall; the evening session that includes the public hearing begins at 7:30 pm.
