Lynchburg Police chase, arrest shootout suspect

LPD lynchburg policeFrom Lynchburg Police: On September 9, 2014 at 5:15 p.m., Lynchburg Police Department officers responded to the area of Twelfth and Buchanan Streets for a firearm violation that may have involved several vehicles in which the occupants were firing weapons from each vehicle. Responding officers located one involved vehicle, a white Cadillac Escalade in the area of Fifth and Taylor Streets. A brief vehicle pursuit occurred followed by a foot pursuit of the driver. The driver was apprehended in the area of the Lynchburg City Public Works complex on Fifth Street a short time later. The driver of the Escalade, Roy Carlton Davis, age 44 from Lynchburg has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, shooting from a vehicle, and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.
