Lynchburg Police search for suspect after attempted robbery and shooting

wlni-defaultFrom Lynchburg Police: On April 29, 2016 at approximately 2200 hours Officers of the Lynchburg Police Department were dispatched to Applebee’s Old Forest Road in reference to a possible malicious wounding. When Officers arrived on the scene they found a b/m victim, Rashad P. Stone Age 19 of Washington D.C. complaining of a gunshot wound to the right leg. Upon speaking to the victim he advised that he was walking in the area of Devonshire Road & Kettering Lane when he was approached by a b/m 5’ 11”, wearing a dark hoodie who demanded money. The victim advised as he fled the area, the b/m suspect began firing shots at him from a handgun. The victim then ran to Applebee’s Old Forest Road and discovered that he had been shot in the right leg.

The victim was transported to the Lynchburg General Emergency Room for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
