Lynchburg water customers alerted to possibility of discolored water

City of LynchburgFrom the City of Lynchburg: Due to planned operational changes to the water system, the City of Lynchburg’s Department of Water Resources is alerting water customers in the areas listed below that they may experience discolored water on Monday, October 6. The changes are being made to assist the contractor working on the new Heritage High School construction project. If discolored water is experienced, residents are advised to run the cold water for three to five minutes to let the water clear up. Do not run hot water, as it will pull discolored water into the hot water tank. If the water remains discolored for a longer period of time, please contact the Department of Water Resources at (434) 455-4250.
