Liberty says in a news release that the collection donated by Harold Rawlings is valued at more than $1 million. It includes two first edition 1611 King James Bibles and a first edition of a 1539 Great Bible, which was the first English Bible authorized by King Henry VIII. The divinity school was named in honor of Rawlings and his three brothers in November, when they donated $5 million to Liberty. Liberty is constructing a new building to house the divinity school. The collection donated by Rawlings will be housed in the new building in a scriptorium. The new building is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2017.
