Man is hospitalized after early morning Lynchburg shooting

Lynchburg PoliceFrom Lynchburg Police: At 0036 hours officers with the Lynchburg Police Department responded to the 3000 block of Memorial Avenue to a report of a malicious wounding. A short time later an 18 year old male victim arrived at the Lynchburg General Hospital suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. During an interview the male victim reported that he was shot in the 3000 block of Memorial Avenue. The male victim described a suspect vehicle as a four door sedan, last seen traveling on Oakley Avenue in the direction of Fort Avenue (City Stadium). The male subject was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective C. T.
