More Bomb Threats at Lynchburg Schools – and LGH

Lynchburg Police and schools are dealing with a second wave of bomb threats. As of Noon today, six schools had received such threats — along with the emergency department at Lynchburg General Hospital. Schools targeted this time included Sandusky, Dunbar and Linkhorne Middle Schools, and T.C. Miller, R.S. Payne and Dearington Elementary Schools. This comes two days after threats were made against 11 Lynchburg City Schools.

Here is the full Lynchburg Police statement:

“On this date between the hours of 7:50 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., the Lynchburg Police Department responded to multiple bomb threats at various City Schools and to the Lynchburg General Hospital. We are working closely with the Lynchburg City School system in our investigative response and in the application of appropriate resources. Thus far, this cooperative response has worked well. At this time, no immediate threat to the community has been identified and all school locations are operating normally. More information will be released as it becomes available regarding this on-going investigation.”
