Officials Warn of River Use

State officials are still trying to figure out the environmental impact from the three oil-carrying tanker cars that fell into the James River. Its unclear how much of the leaking oil burned and how much is headed downriver. Meanwhile, Lynchburg officials are asking that there be no recreational use of the river near the area of the train derailment.  Boaters will not be allowed to put in at the Griffin Pipe boat ramp nor the Riveredge Park boat ramp in Madison Heights.  Vehicular traffic along Jefferson Street is restricted.
