Payne: Lynchburg Police acted appropriately in October tasering

city lynchburg logoCity Manager Kimball Payne says Lynchburg Police officers acted appropriately when they tasered a teenager in October at the E.C. Glass/Heritage football game. In a report submitted today to City Council, Payne says the officers acted within department policy, and the use of a Taser was justified. Payne says his review also concludes another officer’s language at the game was not up to departmental expectations and standards, and he has been counseled about his use of language.
