Police looking for suspect in several incidents Wednesday night

Lburg Suspect 1Police in Lynchburg are investigating several 911 calls they received yesterday and believe the same suspect is behind all of them. It all happened around 5:30 p.m. As officers responded to a man with a gun at Younger Park, they received another call that a man pistol whipped another man on the head as he walked in the 2300 block of Gill Street. A third call came in a few minutes later about a man with a gun, yelling at a customer inside the Campbell Avenue Super Store. Witnesses say the suspect got into a black four-door vehicle, possibly a Toyota Camry.

Around 10 minutes later, police received a call about an attempted carjacking in the 2000 block of Mosby Avenue. The suspect attempted to force his way into the vehicle, but the driver got away unharmed.

Police are still looking for the suspect and believe he is armed and dangerous. Police have released surveillance photos from the Campbell Avenue Super Stop. If you have any information or recognize the suspect, please call (434)455-6167 or (888) 798-5900.
