Police search for person or persons who phoned in bomb threats to LPD building and two high schools

City of LynchburgFrom Lynchburg City Police: On this date between the hours of 10:40 a.m. and 11:20 a.m., the Lynchburg Police Department received two separate phone calls indicating that a bomb was at each of the following locations; Heritage High School, E.C. Glass and the Lynchburg Police Department. Officers were dispatched immediately and School Administration was notified. All three locations were evacuated, searched and determined to be safe. Buildings adjacent to the Police Department were also notified of the threat as a precaution. We are working closely with the Lynchburg City School system in our investigative response. At this time, no immediate threat to the community has been identified and both school locations are operating normally. No specific suspect information is available at this time and the LPD Criminal Investigations Division is continuing the investigation.
