Public Invited to Discuss Zoning Ordinance in Hill City

The City of Lynchburg will hold public meetings tonight and tomorrow…asking the public about proposed changes to zoning ordinances.     Tonight from 6 to 7-30 at the city’s I-T building on Young Place, and tomorrow morning from 10 to 11-30 at the Lynchburg public library to discussion will focus on ways to make zoning more consistent with community goals – and the newly-revised comprehensive plan.     Reducing the number of zoning districts, modifying rules for home-based businesses and clarifying rules for accessory buildings are on the table…attendees will vote on their level of interest via a keypad…or verbally and in written form. In a news release the city calls its zoning ordinance “outdated, confusing and inconsistent with many of the community’s goals.
