Research Needed Before Supervisors Vote on New School Model in Campbell County

The Campbell County Board of Supervisors has approved a request to move forward with a study on how to prudently finance a proposed two high school model within the county’s school district in the future. According to the County Administrator, staff will make inquiries into the costs of consolidating the county’s secondary schools into two high schools and two middle schools. Other items in need of research include attendance boundaries, a timeline and transportation issues. A vote on the measure will come once supervisors have reviewed the findings. School administrators have already approved the concept as part of a 25-30-year school capital improvement plan.
