School Board to Decide on Computer Funding

The Lynchburg City School Board is expected consider reallocation of unspent money in the current budget to be used for technology. According to the School Superintendent, E.C. Glass and Heritage High schools need more computers this spring for Standards of Learning testing. The proposal calls for funding to go for new computers; new student records software, along with funding for a technology consulting firm to work with the school division on a separate project. The computer purchases would be separate from a state-aided program providing tablet computers set to begin in the fall. The issue will be addressed by the board today.
