Senate defeats proposal to lower age limit for “mature drivers” license renewal standards

WLNI-SIt came down to a Senate tiebreaker, but it looks like efforts to set new driver’s license renewal standards for older drivers will fail this year in Richmond. Once you reach 80 in Virginia, drivers licenses are good for no more than five years, and each renewal requires a vision test. The bill would have lowered the age for those requirements to 75.
