Tinbridge Hill Study Will Now Go Before Planning Commission

Last year, a new initiative was launched to prepare a Sustainable Neighborhood Plan for the area of Tinbridge Hill. On Monday the findings of a recent study were presented to residents. The preparation of the plan was a collaborative venture, drawing upon the resources and participation of City departments, a consultant team, area organizations, local college and university interests; and included community meetings, data gathering and analysis. Five goals, including improving the neighborhood’s character, and safety, were among the plan. Tinbridge Hill consists of the Old City Cemetery and area surrounding it at Taylor and Fourth Streets. The neighborhood extends to Fifth, Federal, and Hollins Streets. The findings will be presented to the city planning commission in February.
