VDOT Bridge Inspections Could Cause Temporary Delays Across The Region

The Virginia Department of Transportation is planning to conduct routine bridge inspections in the area beginning today. Virginia’s 20,991 bridges are inspected in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards by qualified inspectors. The agency inspects all of its bridges at least once every two years unless there are issues or concerns. Bridges to be inspected today include Winesap Road in Amherst County over Harris Creek and in Nelson County, Farrar Bridge Lane over Rockfish River —the bridge on Rt.663 (Brightwells Mill Road) over a Norfolk Southern Railway will be closed on Monday.
