A local woman has won the Miss Virginia 2014 title. 21 year old, Courtney Garrett of Pamplin, was crowned in Roanoke on Saturday… This year’s Miss Virginia competition offered over $300,000 in cash and in-kind scholarships to colleges and universities. Garrettis a graduate student at Liberty University. Her community service platform, Defying Disabilities,” focuses on learning to accept people struggling with a disability. She will go on to compete in the Miss America pageant scheduled for Sept. 14 in Atlantic City.
