Long Term Delays Expected On 12th Street

The area affected by the Midtown Connector Project continues to grow as the City’s contractor finishes implementation of the project’s third Phase. Lynchburg officials are encouraging drivers to avoid certain areas during road construction. The north bound lanes of 12th Street between Campbell Avenue and Buchanan Street are closed; a detour route is in place and temporary signals are located at intersections. Traffic delays are expected during this portion of the project which is slated to last until the summer of 2015. Due to the long term impacts, motorists are urged to use alternate routes.
