Liberty’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, may be the 30th college of osteopathic medicine in the country, but it is only the fifth faith-based institution. The administration is geared up for arriving students while anticipating a future of healing right here locally. The first of the 162 students enrolled in the 4 year program are expected on campus today ( Wed). The Dean of the Medical School, Dr. Ronnie Martin spoke with the Jack Murphy show on Tuesday and explained how there could soon be a new option for health care in the Lynchburg region. The Virginia Tobacco Commission approved a $12 million grant for the school; It received provisional accreditation in August of 2013. Liberty University will become a candidate for full accreditation in 2018, just before this first class is expected to graduate
