Beacon of Hope and the Lynchburg Art Club have again joined forces for the 3rd Annual Art for Achievement. This
event brings together the extraordinary talents of the Lynchburg artists’ community and Beacon of Hope’s mission
to empower and equip Lynchburg’s young people for education, training, and certification beyond high school. This
year’s event will take place both in-person, at the Academy Center of the Arts, and remotely, from the comfort of
The event kicks off on Thursday, Nov 11 at 12 Noon when the Online Silent Auction opens. Showcasing more
than 100 10×10 canvases painted by some of Lynchburg’s most sought-after artists, the canvases will be hung
together on panels to form a giant mosaic creating a collective vision of what makes the Lynchburg community so
special. Bidding starts at just $50. With more than 100 canvases, there is something for everyone! Bidding
concludes Saturday, Nov 13 at 10pm.
The Live Auction, featuring NINE beautifully crafted pieces of art from artists near and far, will kick off at 8pm on
Saturday Nov 13th. The LIVE Auction is open to individuals attending the in-person event as well as those watching
remotely. The LIVE Auction will take place electronically, allowing everyone to participate.
To allow guests to feel comfortable while enjoying the in-person Art for Achievement event at the Academy Center
of the Arts Warehouse Theater, only 150 tickets will be made available. Masking will be required, except when
enjoying the delicious food and beverages provided. Doors will open at 6pm, programming begins at 7pm for both
the in-person and remote events, and the LIVE Auction starts at 8pm.
For those attending Art for Achievement from the comforts of home, an incredible pARTy Box including a delicious
grazing tray from Purple Door Gourmet Kitchen & Catering and delicious wine from Everyday Sommelier are
available for purchase. Additionally, each pARTy Box comes with a fun-filled swag bag, custom stainless steel wine
goblets, and scrumptious goodies, Event Tickets and pARTy Boxes begin at $75.
The purchase of an event ticket or a pARTy Box allows entrée to a special Preview Night of both the live and silent
auction pieces on Friday, Nov 12 from 5:30-7:30PM. pARTy Boxes can be picked up at that time.
In addition to bidding on the art work, and to further support Art for Achievement, bidders can purchase raffle tickets
for a chance to win a luxurious office set, complete with a vintage solid oak desk, beautiful table lamp, and a
stunning Moore and Giles leather office chair.

Launched in 2012, Lynchburg Beacon of Hope is a privately-funded, nonprofit community partner of the Lynchburg
City Schools. Lynchburg Beacon of Hope’s mission is to instill in all LCS students the aspiration to pursue and to
provide them with the tools and resources to attain a post-secondary education. Lynchburg Beacon of Hope strives
to transform our community by preparing LCS students to create a path to education, career, and financial
capability in order to transform our community. Since 2013, nearly 600 LCS graduates have pursued education or
training on a Beacon of Hope scholarship. We are seeing more Lynchburg students than ever before taking bold
steps to successfully enter education and training after high school graduation.
Funds raised from Art for Achievement will support Lynchburg Beacon of Hope’s college and career access work
for thousands of students in the Lynchburg City Schools and the Stay Close, Go Far Scholarship program.
