Masks are now optional for teachers and staff in Lynchburg City Schools. That decision from the school board last night. Yesterday was the first day that masks were optional for students in Lynchburg City Schools. Meanwhile, the City of Lynchburg will continue to require employees to wear masks in City buildings because the CDC still considers the Lynchburg area to be in the high risk category.
The city is seeing COVID-19 infection levels trending downward.
